It’s time for another celebration! The pre-kindergartners and their beloved hedgehog puppets, Squeak and Mimi, are celebrating their achievement of learning about physical and intellectual positive actions.
They begin the fun-filled celebration with two special guests, Dr. Doctor and Professor Socks. Through a visual aid, Dr. Doctor asks the students to participate in a game that reviews, evaluates, and celebrates the students’ learning of physical positive actions. The game is called "Dr. Doctor Says." To play it, statements about physical positive actions are given. If it is a positive action, the students move forward, if not, they remain standing in their place. The students enjoy the game, and they feel good about themselves.
"By looking back on the concepts in an exciting way, their engagement and motivation are enhanced, allowing them to better comprehend the lessons."
Joining as a visual aid, Professor Socks also wants to play an intellectual positive actions game, called "Professor Socks Says." It has the same mechanics as “Dr. Doctor Says,” and it helps the students review, assess, and reinforce the lessons on intellectual positive actions. Pre-kindergartners feel good about themselves after doing well in this game. It shows that they have learned a lot and that they become smarter and healthier!
Following the games, the whole class sings a couple of Positive Action songs. First, they listen and sing along to the "Take Care of You" music, a song that reminds them of the physical positive actions they need to take for their bodies. The next song is “Learning to Learn” which is about the positive actions for their minds. Oh, what a happy, healthy, and fulfilling day!
This lesson is designed to help pre-kindergarten students retain the knowledge they have learned while having fun. By looking back on the concepts in an exciting way, their engagement and motivation are enhanced, allowing them to better comprehend the lessons.
