Pre-kindergartners are excited to start a new unit today! They are now in Unit 4 of Positive Action, which is about getting along well with others using social and emotional positive actions.
The lesson opens with a puppet show featuring Squeak and Mimi, two hedgehog puppets, having a hard time getting along! Squeak is being mean to Mimi, and Mimi is hurt. She tells Squeak that he needs to learn how to treat her better by learning how to treat others the way he likes to be treated. Together, the whole class learns about the positive action of getting along with others!

In this lesson, the unit’s key concepts are introduced, using the "Code of Conduct'' poster, which depicts illustrations of positive actions for getting along with others. It is also complete with a story titled, “Droid and Dude" which tells of two friends that are fighting and not getting along.
Following the story is an interactive class discussion and an uplifting Positive Action song, titled "Get Along." The pre-kindergartners then recite a cheer that promotes treating others kindly. They have fun feeling good about themselves when they get along well with others!
