It’s another celebration! Pre-kindergartners rejoice in successfully learning every lesson in Unit 4.
To begin, another Droid and Dude story titled "Back Home" is narrated for the class. Here, the now-friendly friends, Droid and Dude, are back from their exciting Mars trip! They recount to Mama Amore their amazing time together, while she gives them heart-shaped cookies and a pitcher of lemonade. Droid and Dude realize that getting along together is what made their Mars adventure fun and amazing! The teacher displays the “Droid”, “Dude”, and “Mama Amore” visual aids for this.
"This lesson provides an engaging and fun-filled opportunity for pre-kindergartners to practice the social and emotional positive actions for getting along with others."
The celebration continues, and after the story, a fun discussion follows. The "Code of Conduct" poster is displayed, and together, the class reviews each SEL concept of this unit. Through a fun social skills activity, they look back on these positive ways that they can treat other people the way they want to be treated. The students are happy to remember all of these concepts. To help them remember these better, they sing along to the Positive Action song, titled “Get Along.”
Finally, the class listens as their ICU messages from their ICU box are read. They continue to have a fun time listening to more Positive Action songs while enjoying Mama Amore’s heart-shaped cookies and lemonade.
