Strength is beyond physical; it is also intellectual.
Intellectual strength is the power of the mind that helps an individual to overcome daily challenges. People use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to understand complex ideas and learn from experiences.
For example, exercising curiosity helps one discover new things and innovate solutions to improve the quality of life. In addition, showing creativity allows one to think outside the box and come up with fresh ideas for resolving problems.
It’s crucial to cultivate intellectual wellness early when the brain is most ready to learn and grow. Brain stimulation from a young age develops a love for learning, mental resilience, and adaptability.
The focus of this evidence-based SEL lesson is to help kindergarten students enhance their intellectual abilities by reinforcing the positive actions taught in Positive Action Unit 2. Here, a mental exercise challenges them to apply the lesson concepts.

Two lovable puppets, Picks-It Raccoon and Nix-It Panda, open the lesson and facilitate the challenge. They ask the students to lift a thousand pounds without helping each other. At first, the young learners find the test impossible, but Picks-It reminds them that strength is not all about muscles.
Guided by their teacher, the little thinkers determine how to pass their test. They bank on solutions using creative thinking and trial and error. Wearing their thinking caps, they ignite their memory skills and remember that Nix-It had lifted a heavy boulder to pass through the Land of Intellectual. Their strong minds remind them to use a lever as a tool to multiply their strength.
Following this stimulating brain exercise, the students receive congratulations for using their brainpower and passing the test. The puppets, Picks-It and Nix-It, then reiterate that expanding knowledge and skills strengthens intellectual abilities, empowering them to overcome daily challenges.
At the end of the lesson, the students feel more motivated to continue their self-improvement journey and are more dedicated to discovering the secret to a positive self-concept. As they move on to their next challenges, they hold the lesson close to their hearts, recognizing that no challenge cannot be conquered with strong intellectual health.
